Written in opposition to the dominant behaviourism of the period, this slim but closely-argued volume argues for the reality of "mental acts" such as acts of judgment. Geach goes on to dismiss the abstractionist theory of concept-formation and to criticize Russell's relational theory of judgment, before proposing a superior account of his own.
