Description
This text reports on the current status of expert systems and optimization methods as applied to the control of industrial production and manufacturing processes. The work covers both the tools and industrial applications, including: direct control, sensor validation, data reconciliation, intelligent monitoring, operator advice, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, monitoring of conventional on-line optimization and simulation systems, and overall production scheduling.
