内容説明

Virtual reality is a computer-generated, three-dimensional scene within which a user can move and interact with objects. It is becoming popular both to enable the visualization of ideas and as a direct representation/simulation of complex objects and interactions. This introduction to the field of virtual reality explores its applications to the engineering profession, in such areas as the rapid prototyping of new products, simulation and systems management. Other applications discussed include rehabilitating handicapped people and training astronauts. The text combines tutorials with material from manufacturers that demonstrates the existing technology available.
