Description and Table of Contents

Description

One of the group of prose romances which Morris wrote towards the end of his life and which Yeats tells us that he read slowly because he never wanted to come to the end. It is a blending of elements from earlier traditions and, as Norman Talbot argues, notable for its focus on a female hero.
