In this book Professor Rona MacKie explains how the skin is structured and how it works, before giving information on healthy skin and the prevention of skin disease from babyhood to old age. She emphasizes why it is important to protect the skin throughout life from excessive exposure to the sun, and gives information and advice about the commoner disorders of skin, hair, and nails. There is also a chapter on what is reasonable to expect from cosmetics and hair-care products.
