Description
Industrial metabolism describes all the physical processes that convert raw materials and energy into finished products. The concept can be applied globally, to nations or to regions, as well as at the level of a firm or manufacturing enterprise. This study describes the policy implications of the concept and looks at numerous case studies of the concept in action. The final section of the book looks at possible future developments.
