Description

This text brings together the work of 19 Arab, European and North American scholars, who focus on the political, economic, social and theoretical implications of the Gulf War. The variety of key questions they address revolve essentially around two major issues: the meaning of the Gulf War for inter-Arab relations, and for future relations between Arabs and non-Arabs. Designed to appeal to a range of readers, the book should be especially suitable for students. The areas of disagreement highlighted by the contributors, as much as those of consensus, should make it a useful tool in efforts to understand today's Arab world.
