内容説明
This text describes 21 personality theories of contemporary interest. Each theory is present as a whole (its principles, its techniques for diagnosing and treating personality disorders, and its research support). Where appropriate, the development of the theory is related to events in the theorist's life and to the intellectual and social context in which the theorist worked. Each position is evaluated in terms of its application to basic questions about human nature. Students get an overview of each theory and learn how it can be used to diagnose and treat personality disorders. The authors show how modern research supports - or discounts - each position.
