内容説明

The papers presented in this volume are taken from several meetings held during the course of the World Space Congress. Recent Results in X-Ray and EUV Astronomy is based on new and exciting results from the recent space missions such as ASTRO, BBRXT, Ginga, Granat MIR-KVANT, ROSAT and EUVE covering a very wide range of astrophysics. A section on Infrared and Submillimeter Astronomy also forms part of this volume. New data is presented in the field of Gamma-Ray Astronomy which has been made possible by the full operation of two satellite experiments. The deep understanding of the physical processes which govern most astrophysical sources is bound to the full knowledge of the radiation emitted over the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Known as Multi-Wavelength Astronomy, this comprehensive approach has revealed a promising new insight into the astrophysics of compact and energetic objects such as neutron stars or the active nuclei of galaxies.
