内容説明
The importance of numerological thought for Dante is evident from the emphasis which he places upon numbers in his major works the Vita nuova and the Commedia. This book is concerned with the intimate relationship between numbers and the interpretive process. It examines numerological revelations in the Vita nuova and in the episodes of the noble castle, of Ulysses, and of Ugolino in the Commedia. The text is completed by a list of meanings for symbolic numbers in the Middle Ages taken from classical and patristic sources.
