Description and Table of Contents

Description

This book encompasses the papers given at the first annual meeting of the British Psychological Oncology Group, a society which covers all aspects of psychological and sociological problems associated with the treatment and care of cancer patients. The text is divided into three discreet areas: Support programs and therapeutic methods, issues in psycho-oncology and psychological responses to diagnosis and treatment. In all three areas the papers present data in many diverse areas which have not previously been presented together. As such it will provide an important source for the different professional groups who have a common interest in the emotional impact of cancer upon the patient.
