Description and Table of Contents

Description

This two-volume work acquaints the reader with the principles of a wide spectrum of instrumental analytical methods, and in doing so, facilitates multidisciplinary solutions to practical problems. Analytical methods represent an inseparable part of research, not only in chemistry, but in other fields where chemical processes must be monitored and elucidated (e.g. industrial production, process control etc). The rapid development of instrumentation, automation and computerization, which utilize many aspects of physics and mathematics, highlights the need for this clear and concise text which presents the most up-to-date information on this rapidly expanding area. Volume 1 contains information on analytical isotachophoresis, differential pulse polarography, and the progress in ion-selective potentiometry. There is coverage of continuous measurement in flowing liquids, and a look at the remote detection of atoms, molecules and aerosols with laser devices. The book culminates with a discussion of the new sources of radiation in optical emission spectral analysis, and gives a presentation of radionanalytical methods. Written by renowned specialists, the chapters range from descriptions of new methods, through to the newest developments in established fields, and surveys important new applications in analytical methods.
