内容説明
Superannuation has been a major issue in Australian society and politics. Its implications are widespread, and not least among them is the impact of the spread of superannuation upon financial markets. Savings patterns are affected, new financial instruments are required to meet superannuants' requirements, investment patterns may be affected and the competitive position of financial institutions altered. The chapters of this book examine these and other effects of superannuation upon the Australian financial system and the Australian economy. The contributors to "Superannuation and the Australian Financial System" are specialists in this area, drawn from the finance industry, the public sector and academia. Their contributions were originally presented to the Third Annual Melbourne Money and Finance Conference held at Ballarat in December 1991. That conference, sponsored by the ANZ Bank, the National Australia Bank and the Commonwealth Bank, brought together 50 of Australia's foremost practitioners, officials and academics in the area.
"Superannuation and the Australian Financial System" provides an appropriate blend of practical insight and theoretical rigour, historical overview and bold predictions, policy analysis and prescriptions. For those wishing to understand how Australia's financial system will adapt to the changes forced upon it by the growth of superannuation, this collection should be useful.
