Description
In 1977 the philosophy and educational technique of The Experiment in International Living (World Learning, Inc.) and its academic arm the School for International Training (SIT) were embodied in a book, Beyond Experience. Out of print for some years, this seminal work is now published by Intercultural Press in a second edition. Divided into three sections (Ideas, Activities, and assessment), the book provides: a conceptual framework for experiential cross-culture education, a collection of essays on the practical applications of these ideas along with specific exercises, simulations and other activities, and a guide to assessing the educational impact of the experience.
