Experimental Hematology Today - 1989 comprises selected papers presented at the 18th Annual Meeting of the International Society for Experimental Hematology, July 16-20, 1989, Paris, France. Four major areas of research are explored: present aspects of stem cell transplantation; control of hemopoiesis; hemopoiesis in malignancies; and gene transfer. The role of autologous bone marrow transplantation in acute leukemia and in Hodgkin lymphoma, properties of the murine interleukin-3 receptor, effects of Ubenimex on proliferation and differentiation of human bone marrow cells and leukemic cell lines, immune system stimulation for the therapy of advanced stage neuroblastoma, and retro-viral gene transfer of human adenosine deaminase into hematopoietic cells are some of the topics considered.
