内容説明

Any multiracial government that emerges in South Africa in the next few years will face a broad and daunting set of challenges, addressing the deep-seated economic, political and social divisions that must be overcome if South Africa is to be transformed into a stable democracy. The authors explore such issues as: the need to restructure the economy; to integrate both the civil service and the security and police forces; to respond to the problems of marginalised youth; to achieve political and economic equality for women; and to reorientate foreign policy and regional relations to provide for equitable growth throughout Southern Africa. These analyses are designed to serve as a guide to a lengthy period of change.
