Why do some parents of disabled children not use services offering breaks? Drawing on research findings relating to 418 non-users of services, this pamphlet looks at who is not using these services and why parents say they are not doing so. It goes on to look at the current take-up rate of short-term breaks and anticipated level of use if more families joined existing services. Finally it makes suggestions for developing attractive and accessible alternative services.
