Description
All the member states of the EC are currently facing sharply escalating social escurity and health costs, because of changes in demographic and social structures (in particular ageing populations), changes in the level and distribution of affluence and changes in the nature of the labour market. This paper looks first at overall strategies to balance income and expenditure, and then at the specific measures in particular benefit areas.
