内容説明
Laparscopy is the term given for endoscopic examination of the peritoneal cavity. Only a small incision is required, through which the laparoscope and implements for performing what is called 'minimally invasive surgery' in this area can be inserted. It is an example of a technique that has been encouraged both by consumer demand (patients find minimally invasive surgery a much more attractive prospect than traditional surgery) and partly by the new emphasis in medicine on 'resource management' - patients need to be admitted for shorter times, the whole process is less expensive. This is an area that is currently undergoing an explosion in development. A great deal of money is being invested in new equipment and consequently surgeons are keen to learn about the potential of these techniques. Laparoscopy was originated by gynaecologists and has only recently come to be used by general surgeons. This application was pioneered in France and the USA, and this book was the first to be published in France in the subject. It provides the surgeon with a practical introduction to laparoscopic digestive surgery.
Surgeons and gastroenterlogists need an up-to-date, concise guide to the principles involved in this type of surgery, and this book aims to fill that role. It illustrated in colour, and aims to be as succinct and practical as possible.
