Description
This colour atlas provides a visual record of the endoscopic surgery procedures in gynaecology. It is divided into laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopic surgery sections. Using colour photography, it demonstrates the impact of laser on endoscopic surgery. It also documents the effect of the different types of laser according to the pathology treated. In the first part, devoted to laparoscopic surgery, a wide range of serious conditions, including endometriosis, tubal infertility, tubal pregnancy and ovarian cysts, are clearly defined. Thereafter, the new techniques of laparoscopic hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy are described. In the second part, devoted to hysteroscopic surgery, the use of Nd-YAG laser is extensively covered. Different intra-uterine patholgies, including polyps, myomas and intra-uterine adhesions, are described. Finally, new technologies are presented in the part devoted to the future. Indeed, these modalities and delivery systems permit a new option to the treatment of dysfunctional bleeding. Lastly, the use of the laser on gametes is described. This book should be of interest, not only to specialists in the field, but also to a wide range of post-graduates.
The visual materials and illustrations serve to provide a thorough overview of the different types of surgery, particularly the various different applications of laser endoscopic surgery.
