This work reviews the state of medical knowledge of disease, and goes on to look at the development of psychiatric disorders in patients and the role that psychosocial services can play to help those who are, or may be, affected. The second part of the book reviews the psychosocial implications of AIDS as they affect various components of the health and social services, each chapter discussing necessary service developments and possible avenues of further enquiry.
