This guide aims to fill a gap in the literature on human resources by considering the different initiatives associated with maternity, paternity, parental rights and childcare issues within the EC - in particular, the EC pregnancy directive. The book provides a thorough and practical guide to the various issues which affect the provision of parental rights and childcare. It features up-to-date details of UK and European law. "The EC Pregnancy Directive" is divided into two parts, the first dealing with the effects of the EC pregnancy directive, its impact in the UK, European funding and childcare and organizational issues (such as workplace policies which benefit both employers and employees).
