内容説明
Key components of quality assurance within diagnostic radiology are image quality and patient exposure. In order to achieve the objectives of performing radiological examinations and providing satisfactory and consistent clinical information while maintaining patient doses as low as reasonably achievable, methods for defining and measuring an acceptable image performance are a prerequisite. Assessments of such methods need to take into account the two factors that determine image quality and patient exposure: the performance of the imaging equipment and the skill with which it is used. These were the aims of a workshop jointly organized by the Commission of the European Communties and the National Radiological Protection Board of which this volume is the edited proceedings. Acceptable image quality, acceptable patient exposure, evaluation of trials for the set of image quality and patient exposure criteria form the major areas of review.
