Description
The notes which Wilhelm Pieck, chairman of the KPD/SED, took of discussions between the top party leadership and Stalin and his lieutenants in the Soviet Zone of Occupation/GDR in the period 1945 to 1952 throw light on Soviet intentions and tactics on the one hand and the attitudes and intentions of the KPD/SED leadership on the other. They are a reliable source for the history of postwar Germany and the history of the East-West conflict as a whole.
