内容説明

The first papers of the conference address the long-standing issue of the nature of the upstream effects that occur in stratified flow over obstacles (P.G. Baines, CSIRO, Australia; P.A. Taylor, York University, Ontario, Canada; and K.W. Ayotte, Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A.). Then followed a session on internal wave motions followed by a session on modelling the atmospheric boundary layer (J.C. King, British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge; A. Kay, Loughborough University of Technology). There was a session on numerical modelling (O. Metais, Institut de Mecanique de Grenoble, France; A-S. Smedman, Uppsala University). Then various aspects of dispersion are discussed and the final papers in the conference describe laboratory experiments on flow and dispersion around buildings in light wind conditions. This book is intended for research mathematicians working in fluid dynamics, meteorology.
