The importance of the magnetosheath is only now being gradually recognized. This volume, containing sixteen papers, presents topical research on studies and simulation of the global interaction, the properties of the plasma and energetic particles in the magnetosheath, the waves and turbulence in the magnetosheath, the processes occurring at the inner edge of the magnetosheath where the shocked solar wind encounters the magnetosphere and chaos and fractal behaviour in space plasmas.
