Description

This book presents a description and assessment of the archaeology of the Vinalopo Valley, Alicante, during the late Roman and Visigothic periods, concentrating on an examination of the evolution of settlement and a study of local, regional and imported pottery within the contexts of the Vinalopo Valley, south-eastern Spain and the Mediterranean. The book gives a synthesis of the evidence for the road network of the late Republican to Arab periods, the evolution of settlement in the region, and analysis of pottery finds with full typology of late Roman-Visigothic wares. The author concludes with a discussion of several topics based on the ceramic record.
