内容説明
The memoirs of the blind poet, John Heath-Stubbs, who celebrates his 75th birthday in July 1993. By means of amenuensis, he has written an irreverent, observant and often outspoken autobiography, doubling as a history of his literary times. He tells of his Oxford days with contemporaries Kingsley Amis and Philip Larkin, and of his experiences with the Soho poets, artists and Bohemians, many of whom have become famous, such as Dylan Thomas, Tambimuttu and Samuel Beckett. His story is also one of religious re-conversion, the struggle to write good poems, and an account of his increasing blindness.
