内容説明

This text's underlying premise is that an investigation of the social and legal contexts in which trusts commonly appear and the functions which trusts perform within these contexts, is an essential prerequisite of a proper understanding of trusts law. The book is divided into four main parts: trusts and the preservation of family wealth; trusts and family breakdown; trusts and commerce; and trusts and non-profit activity. Within each of these parts, leading cases, statutes and historical and research materials are extracted and integrated with the authors' narrative text, which examines the relevant rules of trusts law and the reasons why trusts are created within that particular context. This edition, as well as incorporating all relevant recent judicial and legislative developments, also contains revised and extended discussion of the ways in which the law of trusts affects commercial and non-profit activities in particular.
