"This document describes the work carried out since the end of the Second World War by bilateral committees or bodies whose task has been to frame recommendations after a critical study of textbooks, for improving them with a view to the better mutual understanding of the countries concerned. It is a sequel to the publication, A Handbook for the Improvement of Textbooks and Teaching Materials issued by Unesco in 1950."
