Description and Table of Contents
Description
The most important recent advances in the theory of agrarian relations are explored in this collection of essays. They look at these advances in the context of Indian agrarianism and analyze Indian agricultural performance. Individual essays focus on such issues as power, coercion, and freedom. Others provide an examination of the actual experience of Indian agriculture since independence in 1947, an analysis of the theoretical issues in agrarian economic relations, and a thought-provoking argument which effectively links Indian agriculture with the country's overall economic progress.
