Description and Table of Contents

Description

J.S. Bach's keyboard works form one of the oldest and most important repertories in Western music. This reference guide provides a survey of all Bach's keyboard music, from the "Clavier-Book for Anna Magdalena Bach", on which child pianists cut their teeth, to the mighty "Goldberg Variations" and "Art of Fugue". The book draws on the vast amount of recent Bach research and discusses in a straightforward way problems of interpretation, including use of instruments, registration, rhythm and ornamentation. Many music examples are included.
