内容説明

Beneath the shadow of World War 1, the Young Turk government orchestrated the massacre of over one million Armenians in Turkey between the years 1915 and 1918. This book explains the historical, cultural and political conditions which led to this tragedy and to the subsequent claims that it never actually took place. The collection presents a multi-disciplinary investigation and interpretation of the Armenian genocide. Each contributor examines the event from a different perspective. Methods of study include archival research, political analysis, field study, comparative study of genocide and analysis of the literary response. Through exploration of the history, politics and ethics of the Armenian genocide, this book sheds light on one of the most neglected events in 20th century history.
