This eighth edition provides commentary on the whole area of employment law, including certain connected areas (eg attachment of earnings, education and training and service letting). The book deals with cases and legislation in a detailed but concise form and makes sense of ths complicated area of law. The Trade Union Reform and Employment Rights Act 1993 is the largest piece of employment legislation since 1979, with implications over a wide area of employment law. This handbook has been completely revised to incorporate the reforms of the new Act and the consolidation of the statutory provisions relating to collective employment law by the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. Also included are details of six new EC-inspired sets of Regulations which affect health and safety as well as numerous new cases including Marshall (No 2) and Pepper v Hart and the many other important decisions of the European Court, particularly relating to transfer of undertakings.
