This book aims to explain how violence against women is the implicit, unstated axis upon which the Israeli-Palestinian conflict turns. Utilizing historical, anthropological and sociological sources, Young seeks to show the role of women in the evolution of the Judeo-Arabic heritage from pre-Islamic times to the present.
