内容説明

This text covers the principles of organization and administration as they apply to the many different employment settings in athletic training. It can be used by students preparing for the national Athletic Trainers Association certification examination and by those working toward advanced degrees. It should also be a useful reference for practicing athletic trainers in just about every setting who want to learn how to manage their many responsibilities more effectively and efficiently. The book is full of examples and case studies that help athletic trainers see how administrative principles can be used to solve real-life problems. With this book readers should learn about: the concepts of power, authority and leadership and how each can be used effectively in mangerial situations; the value of vision and mission statements, planning and evaluation to a sports medicine program; human resource issues, such as recruitment and hiring, supervision and performance evaluation; budgeting, purchasing, inventory control and other financial management concerns; facility design and planning; information management, including how to use computers to manage information and enhance communication in athletic training settings; insurance issues, such as choosing coverage, understanding third-party reimbursement and processing claims; and legal considerations in sports medicine. In addition to the case studies which open and close each chapter, the book contains student objectives, chapter summaries, author and subject indexes, a running glossary and an annotated bibliography. The book also has sample forms, checklists and itineraties that students and practitioners can adapt to their own work situations.
