The papers in this volume reflect the current interest and activity of practising bridge engineers. Most bridge types are discussed and a number of case studies are included. New methods of construction, innovation in design and aesthetics are reported, together with some of the latest research work. In particular, the volume provides an up-to-date review of the current work being carried out to extend the life of the bridge stock worldwide.
