内容説明
Important functions of the liver are controlled by transport across different membrane domains. Advances in molecular cell biology have contributed to a better understanding of transport mechanisms in hepatocytes. The chapters in this book, the proceedings of the 74th Falk Symposium held in Heidelberg, Germany, 27--28 January 1994, discuss the current concepts in transport of low molecular weight substances across the sinusoidal membrane, intracellular events in conjugation and transport, as well as export across the canalicular hepatocyte membrane.
Transport processes are discussed on the level of the carrier molecules, on the cellular level, as well as in the intact organ. In addition, the regulation of transport systems is addressed. An invaluable contribution to the exchange of information between basic scientists and clinical hepatologists in the rapidly expanding area of membrane transport.
