内容説明
The British Crime Survey has now been carried out four times in 1982, 1984, 1988 and 1992. This report presents findings from the 1992 sweep of the survey which gathered information about experience of crime in 1991 from a sample of 10,000 households in England and Wales. It also covered a "booster" sample of 1650 Afro-Caribbeans and Asians. The survey provides an index of crime in England and Wales to set beside that from statistics compiled by the police. It offers a fuller count of crime by asking people directly about their experiences whether or not they reported what happened to the police. The report discussed the extent of unrecorded crime, the reasons why crimes go unreported, and changes in crime since 1981 as measured by the survey and police figures. It also looks in detail at burglary, thefts involving cars, and violent crime, assessing who is most at risk of these offences and what typically happens.
