Description and Table of Contents
Description
This second edition includes more material, especially in virology, molecular biology of bacteria and the molecular basis of bacterial pathogenesis. It includes a new chapter on microbial genetics. Many other chapters have been revised with the purpose of achieving greater coverage of the molecular and immunological basis of pathogenesis. "Paradigms" have been included in most chapters on bacteria and viruses to provide generalizations on specific points in pathogenesis. The answers to "self-assessment questions" (absent from the first edition), have now been provided.
