内容説明
Developed from a symposium sponsored by the Divisions of the Chemical Health and Safety, Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry at the 207th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society held in San Diego, California, March 13-17, 1994, this work presents a general overview of the development of taxol as an anticancer drug, including the discovery, initial development, current status, supply issues and recent clinical developments. It discusses in detail the cellular mechanism of action and the toxicity of taxol. The book presents drug delivery and taxotere metabolism, and explains semisynthetic and medicinal chemistry studies. It also covers approaches to the total synthesis of taxol.
