内容説明
The initiation and enforcement of consumer protection laws is an issue which is vital to all consumers. As law makers and the defenders of the law, it is essential to be aware of the consumer protection laws of your native country. However it is equally important to have the opportunity to review and evaluate the commitments and approaches to consumer protection law in diverse nations. By doing so one is able to formulate, by contrast and comparative study, the most beneficial aspects of various laws which can contribute to the implementation of progressive reforms in individual countries, making strides towards a more civilized society in general. This volume provides the opportunity to review the legislation and reforms of most of the Western post-industrial countries. The papers published in the book are based on reports made at the annual conference sponsored by the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, held in Salzburg, Austria, which focused on consumer protection. It is a country-by-country study of the fundamental consumer protection practices.
