Description and Table of Contents

Description

Iran and Iraq are two of the most politically-volatile countries in the world, posing a genuine threat both to each other and more widely. This book provides an analysis of the military capabilities of both countries, tracing the history of their armed forces, discussing their current security developments, and providing an assessment of the strength and effectiveness of their armies, navies, and air and air-defence forces. The book also evaluates the internal security of both countries, including the role of the military in government, and their internal tensions and civil wars, as well as examining paramilitary and rebel forces. It concludes with forecasts of possible future conflicts and a strategy for deterring or subduing them.
