Description

Theopompus of Chios was one of the most important ancient Greek historians of the fourth century BC. Although his work only survives in quotations by later authors, he is a vital source for our understanding of Greek history during the age of Philip of Macedon. This new study explores his historical method and the intellectual milieu in which he lived.
