Description and Table of Contents

Description

Schreker was the most performed composer of his generation, but, forced into retirement by Hitler's racial decrees in 1933, his music banned, he died a broken man. Thereafter Schreker was forgotten, but this first major biography coincides with a revival and rediscovery of his work.
