Description and Table of Contents
Description
Air Conditioning is a textbook for undergraduate courses in building services and environmental engineering, BTEC continuing education diploma, higher national diploma and certificate courses in building services engineering and will be of considerable help on national certificate and diploma programmes. The design of air conditioning systems involves considerable calculation work which is now mainly carried out with dedicated computer software, however, the engineering principles need to be fully comprehended in the first instance, as do the basic formulae and calculation techniques utilized. The reader is actively involved in the use of such data by the use of worked examples and copious exercises and design assignments. The use of dedicated computer software is demonstrated in several areas by the use of sample input data and output. A spreadsheet has been used for design calculations, for example, for air duct sizing and fan characteristic curves. The formulae used are listed. The reader is encouraged to make full use of spreadsheets where dedicated software is not available and to customize these examples.
Equations and data are from the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers Guide.
