内容説明
Brownell's book is an introductory text on microcomputers for `academics'. It contains specific examples of computer applications useful to social scientists. The examples are of bibliographies, references, research notes, census data, survey data, grant and contract accounting, instructional possibilities and the preparation of book length manuscripts. The chapters on hardware contain brief descriptions of the most popular machines with specifications and observations on their varying usefulness. The software discussions consist of basic descriptions of programming: what they can do; how easy they are to learn; and their principal advantages and disadvantages.
