Description

A source of information and analysis of member states perceptions and policies towards the UN multilateralism and the United Nation's system of operating within and across states. This volume focuses attention on states which fall into three groupings: Germany and India, both trying for a larger vote in the system; Sweden and Romania both viewing the UN system as a way of projecting domestic aims onto a global stage; and Chile, Jamaica and Sierra Leone, three countries affected by the shifting currents in the multilateral sphere.

Table of Contents

  • Evolution and change in the UN system
  • seeking a larger voice: German and Indian perspectives
  • perspectives from the European periphery
  • "On the receiving end" small state perspectives.
