内容説明
This three volume work is the first complete publication covering the mechanism of host specificity and pathogenesis in plant diseases. The approach of this publication is system based; the main aim is to compile, critically analyse and correlate the information available on all aspects (i.e. histopathology, biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology) of pathogenesis (susceptibility and resistance as facets) and host specificity in important plant-pathogen systems representing different types of parasitism and symbiotic, mutualistic and antagonistic associations. Homology among the different systems is also explored. Individual articles have been prepared by internationally reputed scientists and present an up-to-date, comprehensive and thought provoking picture of the mechanism of pathogenesis and host specificity in these different associations. The contributions broaden the viewpoint of the readers, stimulate further thinking and help with the synthesis of new ideas so that future experiments more effectively unravel the mysteries of plant-pathogen interactions.
The book is primarily intended for the researchers, teachers, graduate students and senior undergraduates in the fields 'of plant pathology, phytonematology, phytobacteriology, phytovirology, mycology, botany, plant molecular biology, genetics and plant breeding and agricultural microbiology . AUDIENCE For plant pathologists and researchers in the fields of plant molecular biology, genetics, phytovirology, mycology and botany.
