Description and Table of Contents

Description

The authors of this work focus on the pharmacological approach to cardioprotective care. They describe cardioprotective therapeutics as an integrated five-sided approach to the long-term management of coronary artery disease. The five aspects for management are hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, thromboembolism, arrhythmias and menopause. All data are supported by evidence from clinical trials. The text is: accompanied by bar graphs, which illustrate clinical trial data; extensively referenced; and summarized by flow charts which indicate at what stage certain measures should be taken. It is intended for cardiologists in practice and in training.
